Snowmaking began today at Breckenridge Ski Resort on Peaks 8 and 9. You can smell winter in the air.

This summer at Breck, resort crews installed 110 new, low-energy snow guns across Peaks 7, 8, 9, and 10. The majority of the new snow guns are concentrated on Peak 8 and Breck’s 4 O’Clock trail, which provides skiers and riders the opportunity to ski directly from the mountain into town.

Breck’s opening date is set for Nov. 11. Between the resort’s vast terrain, iconic ski town, and continued investments into the mountain, there is always something new to experience at Breck.

This season, the resort will be revealing the upgraded Rip’s Ride Chair on Peak 8. This new high-speed quad will greatly enhance the Ski & Snowboard School experience by providing faster access to Peak 8’s primary learning terrain. It will also provide guests with faster and more convenient access to Peak 9.

Winter is near. Time to get those skis and boards out of storage.
