Iain Martin, host of The Ski Podcast, will attempt to ski at all five UK indoor snow centres in a single day on Friday, May 30, aiming to raise funds for the youth snowsports charity Snow Camp. His ambitious โ25 in 25โ challenge involves skiing at least 10 runs at each venue, traveling nearly 500 miles in an electric car to minimize carbon emissions and highlight sustainable travel.
Martin will begin his journey at Tamworth Snowdome before heading north to Chill Factore in Manchester, then to Snozone Yorkshire, Snozone Milton Keynes, and finally The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead. Each centre has supported the challenge by providing free slope access and equipment hire.
The goal is to raise ยฃ2,500, enough to fund beginner snowsports experiences for 25 inner-city young people through Snow Campโs summer 2025 program. Since its founding in 2003, Snow Camp has introduced over 20,000 young people from underserved communities to skiing and snowboarding, combining sports with life skills, qualifications, and vocational opportunities.
Snow Camp offers young people the opportunity to be inspired and empowers them to pursue their dreams in the industry and beyond. “I couldnโt be prouder to be supporting their life-changing work,โ Martin said on The Ski Podcast. Dan Keeley, Community and Events Director at Snow Camp, added, โWeโre hugely grateful for all your support in helping Snow Camp to break down barriers and broaden horizons for young people who need the positive opportunities the most.โ
Supporters can sponsor Martinโs challenge through his JustGiving page. As he navigates the logistical and physical demands of the day, Martinโs journey aims to spotlight the transformative impact of snow sports for young people across the UK.
