New Terrain Opens on Bald Mountain to the Delight of Powderhounds

Skiers and riders will have even more options at North America’s No.1 ski destination, Sun Valley Resort, this week, as Mother Nature delivered with well over two feet of fresh powder on Bald Mountain over the past four days with 12” falling in the last 24 hours.

New terrain opened on the mountain including the runs of Upper Limelight, Upper French Dip, Lower Picabo, Maiden Lane, Graduate, and more. With snow expected to continue through Tuesday, more terrain will continue to be added. Skiers and riders are encouraged to check out the Mountain Report or download the Sun Valley app for the most up-to-date conditions.

Warm Springs Lodge, as well as Challenger chairlift, opened today, Tuesday, December 14 which adds access to even more terrain including Upper and Lower Warm Springs, I 80, and Fly Squirrel. The Roundhouse perched atop the Roundhouse Express gondola is serving lunch Thursday through Monday and will open for dinner service on December 17. Reservations are required for this memorable experience and can be made by calling (208) 622-2800. Dollar Mountain, Sun Valley Resort’s family-friendly mountain is scheduled to open on Friday, December 17, conditions dependant.

It hasn’t let up around here, and the stoke level is high to say the least ❄️ 🤘 Challenger Express is now open for the season. New terrain continues to open with Flying Squirrel, Picabo’s, Limelight, Lower Warm Springs, Exhibition, Holiday and many more added to the open roster.
