The PNW had a slow start this winter, and at the start of December, Crystal Mountain Resort was the only ski area open on the west side of the Washington Cascades. Then on Dec. 10th, the storms started stacking up.

I pulled my 1973 Airstream up to B-Lot (where Crystal has 60 RV spots with power hook-ups), on Dec. 20th.

From there, the Northwest settled into a colder than average air flow with regular cycles of refresh and cold clear nights to keep the conditions prime for over two weeks.

We rung in the New Year with blue skies and cold snow.  One last day of powder leftovers on Jan. 1 before it was time to tow our cabin on wheels back down the hill and get ready for next weekend, just as another series of storms takes aim on the PNW.
