Powder Magazine just released the list everybody is waiting for; their annual ‘Best Skis of the Year’ report, which after thousands of hours of testing, their experts put together to help us with our ski buying decisions this season. Their reviewers spent a week at Red Mountain, BC shredding powder, bumps, trees, groomers and whatever else there is to bring you an unbiased verdict of the new technology set to hit store shelves this winter. It sounds like a tough job…

All the major manufacturers get a mention, and a couple of smaller ones, but what strikes me the most is that there is only one pair less than 100mm underfoot, and they are 96mm, with the majority of the skis being in and around 120mm underfoot. From what I’ve noticed on the mountain, skiers are trending back towards skinnier skis. But what do I know…?!
