Owning an authentic piece of skiing history is certainly popular with snow sport enthusiasts. Powder Mountain is currently auctioning off 50 historic chairs online and the auction will end on May 12, 2024. A previous live auction of Timberline Lift chairs raised $62,550 for the CFOV.

From April 29 to Sunday, May 12 at midnight, 50 chairs from the Timberline Lift will be auctioned off. 100% of the online auction profits will be donated to the Community Foundation of Ogden Valley (CFOV). The chais in question are chairs 56 – 105. Registered bidders will be notified by email and text when they are outbidgiving bidders a chance to make a counteroffer or bid on another chair.

Winners will be notified by email and text and need to pick up their chair from Powder Mountain Resort, from July 10 – 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Check-in at Arbor Lodge before pick up. A pickup truck, trailer, or box truck for pickup is recommended, as chairlift dimensions are: length 9 feet, width 5 feet 6 inches, depth 3 feet. Powder Mountain will not ship or hold equipment. Ongoing construction at Powder Mountain may affect this process.

About Community Foundation of Ogden Valley

100% of the Timberline Chairlift Auction profits will be sent directly to the Community Foundation of Ogden Valley (CFOV). The Community Foundation is a philanthropic center serving donors and nonprofits that seek to improve the lives of the community that live, work, or play in Ogden Valley. Timberline Lift History and Future

The Timberline Lift opened for the 1972/73 season, just one year after Powder Mountain officially opened with Sundown only. Since then, it has played a crucial role in expanding our terrain, connecting Sundown, Hidden Lake, and Timberline terrain zones. Over time, it has grown more sentimental to long-time locals and visitors alike, as it is one of the last lifts of its kind in Utah. Maintaining fixed-grip lifts older than the Godfather has become a difficult task; Powder Mountain is ready for the new era of Timberline.

During the Summer of 2024, the Timberline Lift will be replaced with a Quad Chair, significantly increasing carrying capacity. This upgrade will greatly assist Powder Mountain in maintaining non-existent lift lines and uncrowded slopes.
