On November 4, 2025, ownership of Ragged Mountain Resort in Danbury, New Hampshire, was formally transferred to SF Mountain Co., LLC in a real-estate transaction estimated at $6.4 million. The new ownership group was formed in May 2025 and created a dedicated operating entity, Ragged Mountain Resort LLC, last month to oversee resort operations.
The sale marks a new chapter for the resort, which was previously operated and managed by Pacific Group Resorts, Inc. (PGR) from around 2007. Importantly, PGR managed the mountain on behalf of an owner and did not directly own the resort assets. PGR has been retained by the new owners to assist during the transition period through the start of the 2025-26 ski season; the resort’s website and branding will remove PGR affiliation once the transition is complete.
Founded in the mid-1960s, Ragged began operations during the 1964-65 season amid an effort to expand ski infrastructure in central New Hampshire. It debuted with seven runs, a T-bar and a Hall double chairlift. Over the years the resort expanded to roughly 250 skiable acres across two peaks, with the 1,250-foot vertical drop placing it among the larger New Hampshire ski areas.
In the last several years, under PGR’s management, the resort completed major capital improvements including the installation of the Spear Mountain Express Quad in 2014 and the addition of an expanded snowmaking pond. These upgrades helped the resort deliver strong skier visits and enhanced guest experience.
While its original development plans once included a golf course and tubing facility, those ventures were eventually phased out. Today, Ragged Mountain is seen as a solid regional ski destination—with mature lift infrastructure, snowmaking coverage and a vertical drop that keeps it competitive in the region.
