August is one of those perfect summer months. It offers up more options for fun than at any other time in the year. And sure, a lot of those options are summer options, but for skiers and riders, August has to be top of the list. You see, August is that time of year when your snow addiction starts to creep back into your life and you wake up every morning wondering if it’s opening day at your local ski hill. That’s where Argentina comes in. It’s full winter down there in August and in Bariloche, you won’t find anywhere else on the continent as well set up to cater to big mountain backcountry skiers and riders.

The beauty of the SASS programs are the focus is on mixing backcountry education and knowledge with some of the best skiing you’ll ever do. The SASS philosophy is not just to take you to the goods, but to educate you enough to start looking for the goods upon your return home. This is something not many operators do. SASS puts the focus on backcountry awareness, mountain knowledge, snow safety and learning to be safe in the mountain environment. All critical skills to ensure you have a long and fulfilling ski touring experience both here and for years to come at home.
