After nearly a week, the search continues for an 18-year-old teen who disappeared at a beach in Chatfield State Park in Littleton, Colorado on July 31.
Water recovery efforts for SMFR & @WestMetroFire are shutting down for day 5 in the search for the missing person in the reservoir. @Denver_Fire plans to send it’s dive team out to Chatfield on Wednesday to continue assisting South Metro, @CPW_NE & @jeffcosheriffco.

Aric Whitacre was reported missing to the Jeffco Sherrif at 3:20 pm on Friday, July 31. Whitacre was last seen swimming about 60 feet off the shore.
Search efforts have so far included drone surveys, sonar, dive teams, and even a water cadaver dog.
The almost 1500-acre reservoir that Whitacre was last seen at is located within Chatfield State Park just outside the Denver metro area.
Authorities will continue to post updates on the situation. Aric Whitacre’s family and friends are asking people to stay off the water as the search continues.
