PyeongChang proved that Shaun White can still bring it!

White’s gold medal run in the snowboard halfpipe event made it clear that he was back to business, an especially impressive feet after coming off of a jarring crash into the lip of a frozen halfpipe back in October, requiring 62 stitches.

An underwhelming fourth place finish at the Sochi Olympic Games in 2014 had all eyes on White in the halfpipe, but as White brings home his third Olympic gold medal he has the world wondering why they ever doubted him.

Beyond White’s mainstream fame, endorsements, and recent appearances in the media, lies a red headed kid from California with raw talent and a drive to compete.

White’s career took shape at Mammoth Resort’s Snow Summit and Bear Mountain.

Born in San Diego, White grew up skiing these Southern California slopes. In 2016 he invested in the revamping of these mountains.

White now competes as an official Mammoth Team athlete for Mammoth Mountain in Mammoth Lakes, CA.

White began packing his bags for PyeongChang last month, following the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team Nomination Ceremony Presented by Visa at the U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth.
