Shredder Ski School, a franchise corporation based in Boulder, Colorado, has just opened its first Dallas area location. While Dallas might not be the first place one associates with winter sports, the community boasts a strong affinity for skiing and snowboarding. Robert Lacey, a Vermont native and a ski enthusiast since the age of 6 is the driving force behind this ambitious venture. Having previously worked at the world renowned Killington Resort while in high school, he understands the transformative power of introducing children to these exhilarating outdoor activities at a young age. “I’m thrilled to launch a Shredder in Dallas, providing kids of diverse backgrounds the opportunity to experience skiing and snowboarding,” Lacey stated on the school’s site.

Shredder Ski School aims to recreate a similar environment to what one would experience at a traditional ski resort. The school’s curriculum aligns with the industry-standard teaching methods used at renowned ski resorts, ensuring a seamless transition for students who wish to take their skills to the slopes. Shredder Ski School’s facilities are designed to create a stimulating, enjoyable and safe atmosphere, fostering a love for winter sports from an early age.

While there are no traditional ski resorts in Texas, Dallas boasts one of the most impressive airports in the United States. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport ranks as the second busiest airport in the U.S. according to WOWT. It handles approximately 82.35 million passengers annually, making access to world class ski resorts from the metro area a breeze. DFW lies within a 3 hour flight of Colorado, Utah, and the Tahoe region of California.

As Dallas embraces this thrilling new addition to its recreational landscape, it stands ready to inspire a new generation of skiers and snowboarders. With Robert and Candice’s passion and expertise at the forefront, the school looks to be to be a beacon of adventure, inclusivity, and lifelong memories for families across the region. Whether you are planning a future trip out to the slopes or keeping the kids active with a new activity, Shredder Ski School looks to be the place to check out.
