Yesterday, we went for a classic.
A lava tube cave on a mountainside.
On good snow years, you can ski right through it.
We dropped in around 10am and the snow was just about perfect.
No one had skied it yesterday before we arrived and it appeared no one had skied it the previous day either.
I dropped into great corn snow and was surprised by how steep the line was.
The jagged lava pillars on either side of the cave were also a cool surprise.
I hadn’t skied this line since 2017.
Even right inside the cave in the shade the snow was still good.
I blasted through the cave and back into the sunshine with a smile on my face.
