12-feet of October snow this past week and widespread flooding in Seward, AK the Silverton heli-ski season is now open for the 2018/19 season. Ranked #1 in steeps and #1 in powder in the USA, top ten for 2013 by Forbes Magazine, and best heli-skiing by Outside Magazine, maybe this is the year you should cross out this bucket list trip?

With all-time epic October snow conditions in Alaska this year Silverton Mountain Guides opened for the season this past weekend on October 20th. A massive series of winter storms that caused widespread flooding in Seward, Alaska has left the mountains plastered in deep snow.  More than 12-feet of new snow have fallen in the past week, and more snow is in the forecast.
