About the peaks:The Maroon Bells are two 14,000 ft peaks that are apart of the Elk Range in Colorado. Both of the peaks are extremely steep and are made of brittle rock. They are known as the “deadly bells” because of the rigorous climb and loose rock that can slide without warning, which have claimed many lives. The peaks are 12 miles south west of Aspen.
