Oliver Kern, founder of Skiresort.info and holder of multiple skiing endurance records, will attempt his eighth world record on October 7 at SnowWorld Bispingen, one of Europe’s most advanced indoor ski facilities.

Kern aims to ski at least 22,000 vertical meters (72,178 vertical feet) within 24 hours using the six-seater chairlift and platter lift at the northern German ski hall. To achieve his goal, he will need a minimum of 555 lift rides, beginning his effort at midnight.

The attempt follows a landmark year for Kern, who in February reclaimed the record for riding the most different ski lifts in a single day, logging 101 in Sälen, Sweden. In April, he visited his 1,000th ski resort, adding to a career total that spans 35 countries and six continents. Over the course of decades of skiing, Kern has also ridden more than 8,400 ski lifts worldwide and collected over 25,000 ski passes.

Founded in 1998, Skiresort.info has grown into the world’s largest online ski resort test portal under Kern’s leadership, featuring over 500 detailed reviews across 18 evaluation criteria.

SnowWorld Bispingen, located south of Hamburg in the Lüneburg Heath, will provide the technical infrastructure and staff to support the record attempt. The facility houses the world’s only detachable six-seater chairlift in an indoor ski centre. Safety measures and round-the-clock assistance will ensure uninterrupted operations during the 24-hour challenge.

The venue offers year-round skiing, featuring a 300-meter (984-foot) slope, a fun park, and Germany’s longest indoor toboggan run.
