With a light dusting of snow Christmas Eve, the skiing at Squaw has shaped up quite nicely. Pockets of chalky winter snow can be found all over the mountain, with Headwall harboring some of the best turns. New openings today, including rumors of Olympic Lady, promise to sweeten the offerings here at Squaw.

While there are plenty of beautiful chalky turns to be found, there are also plenty of terrifying ice patches as well. After the rain last weekend, many of the traverses at the top of the moumain are slick and exciting. But once you make the traverse, your rewarded wit wintery goodness.

There are whispers of a small weather system for Monday/Tuesday of next week, but unfortunately no substantial snowfall for Tahoe in the short term forecast, only cold temps and sunshine (which is perfect for snowmaking ).  Overall the skiing has been holding up great, so get up and get out there!
