It’s starting to look more and more convincing that Tahoe will see snow this weekend. Of all the weather models the Canadian is showing the most snow for Tahoe with several inches falling over the weekend above 8,000 feet.
This storm will be the result of a tropical storm that originated near Japan and will travel across the pacific in the jetstream and potentially collide with the Sierra Nevada.
Temperatures will be cooler than average this weekend in Tahoe as well with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.
Long range Fall forecasts are showing below average precipitation for Lake Tahoe but if this storm hits, it certainly won’t feel that way.

If you’re not in the Ironman and you’re a skier or rider, you’re likely stoked for this storm. We certainly are. We’re excited to see a bit of “termination dust” up in those high peaks. We’ll keep you posted on how this storm pans out.
