Record lows were reached this morning in California’s Sacramento Valley in Redding, Red Bluff, Sacramento, and Stockton.

Confidence with very low elevation snow tonight/early Sat. Clouds are filling in across northern CA with light rain/snow currently over NW CA. We expect a more fluffy snow with decent amounts due to the cold airmass, especially over higher elevations. – NOAA today

KRCR News Channel 7 reporting snow flurries in Redding(495ft)! – NOAA at 2pm

Light rain/snow currently over northwest CA. Gradual spread southeast later today & overnight with snow accumulations approx. at 300ft. – NOAA at 11:30am today

Spotter in Cottonwood, CA (elev 420 ft) just reported a brief period of snow flurries!  – NOAA at 1:30pm today

You know it’s cold when it’s snowing at sea level in California…
