Cool weather and rain in Colorado this week brought snow to Pikes Peak, Colorado Sunday night into Monday morning. This week and next are expected to have lower than average temperatures for this time of year. Snow at this elevation is seen as fairly uncommon in summer and especially for early August, which is typically the hottest weeks of summer.
 Pikes Peak is 14,115 feet at the summit and is the 30th tallest of the 53 14ers in Colorado.Â
