Snowbird, Utah, is giving skiers and riders a little more time to lock in the best value for winter. The resort has extended its season pass pricing deadline through Wednesday, September 30, allowing guests another week to purchase a Summit Pass and other qualifying season passes at current rates before prices increase. Located in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Snowbird is known for its long seasons and high-altitude terrain, often remaining open later than most ski areas in North America.
In addition to extending pass pricing, Snowbird is introducing a new benefit for qualifying passholders this winter: a free rolling parking reservation in the Upper Gad Valley Lot. The new perk provides eligible passholders with one complimentary parking reservation at a time. Once a reservation is used, passholders can make another free reservation, subject to availability. The benefit is designed to provide added convenience and flexibility throughout the season. Carpooling is still highly encouraged; guests who have 3 or more people in the car can park on a first-come/first-served basis in the dedicated spots.
“Our passholders are super important to us,” Dave Fields, General Manager of Snowbird, said in a press release. “By extending our pricing deadline and adding a new parking benefit, we’re making it easier than ever for passholders to enjoy more days on the mountain.”
As part of Snowbird’s updated parking program, reservations will be available in the Lower Gad Valley, Pond, Chickadee, and Valet Lots seven days a week, as in previous years. New this year, Upper Gad Valley Lot will also have reservations available seven days a week. Qualifying passholders will receive priority access to make reservations and the ability to utilize their free rolling reservation benefit throughout the season. Reservations will be validated by license plate. As in previous years, most parking at Snowbird will still be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Most adult Snowbird passholders qualify for the free rolling reservation benefit, including Summit Pass, Alta-Bird Pass, Alta-Bird Family 4-Pack adult passholders, and Flex-5 Pass holders. Youth and Child passes (including Freeloader passes), Mountain Collective passes, Ikon Passes, lift tickets and employee-dependent passes do not qualify.
Guests who purchase before September 30 will secure current pass pricing and gain access to all associated passholder benefits for the 2026-27 winter season. “The best way to get to Snowbird is still the same,” Fields said. “We still highly recommend taking the UTA Ski Bus, carpooling, and watching the road conditions on Snowbird.com or UDOT.”
Snowbird’s new Chickadee lift was completed this past June and will be a great assist for this upcoming ski season. It is a fixed-grip, four-seat chairlift serving beginner skiers accessing Chickadee run and Chickadee Chutes — the primary learning zone at the resort. It is designed to move up to 1,600 passengers per hour, significantly more than the old Chickadee lift. It also brings some major upgrades, like a slow-loading conveyor and modern chair design for a more comfortable ride and reliable operations in windier conditions.
In addition to the new lift, Snowbird completed extensive grading work on the Chickadee learning area to improve accessibility and flow for beginner skiers and riders. The upgrades make the existing beginner terrain easier to access and navigate, creating a more welcoming learning environment for guests of all ages and abilities.
More details on parking reservation release dates, enforcement, and pricing at Snowbird will be released closer to the winter season.
