South Lake Tahoe’s Jamie Anderson Wins GOLD in Snowboard Slopestyle

SnowBrains |

23-year-old South Lake Tahoe, CA native Jamie Anderson won gold in women’s snowboard slopestyle over the weekend.  She smoothly landed two huge 720s in her run, setting her apart from the other competitors.

Jamie completed an American sweep of snowboard slopestyle after Sage Kotsenburg won the men’s gold medal.  This was the first ever Olympics to include snowboard slopestyle.

Jamie scored a 97.00 out of 100.00 on her final run in the Olympic slopestyle competition.  She was the 4th to last girl to run and she didn’t waste a moment of her run.

“I was really just trying to stay calm and kind of reserve my energy.  It was a lot of stress up there and even though it’s just another competition, the stage and the outreach that this event connects to is out of control.” – Jamie Anderson
