With Easter Weekend upon us and the different Grom programs of the Valley coming to a close, not to mention the Pain McShlonky Classic going off, the atmosphere around Squaw Valley was simply spring time fun.ย And, the skiing is still ripping, with the Corn Farming in high season.ย That’s right ladies and gents, if you’ve been sleeping in you need to get out there and get to Corn Farmin’!ย It’s nice to have some events back in Squaw, and today was chalk full of ’em with The Pain McShlonky Classic, the Mighty Mite Big Air Comp, the Freeride Team’s Big Mountain Comp, and the Far West Nationals.
The Hot:
- Funnel – soft by 9:30
- PMS Classic
- Mighty Mite Big Air Contest
- Far West Championships
The Not:
- The ominous patches of dirt opening up on the Mountain Run
- Mogul Hill – she’s extra moguly and a bit bushy
- Rain
The costumes were out and about today, with the PMS crew dressed to impress, complete with a two man Lama getup.ย The Mighty Program was also in their Saturday’s finest, complete with bikini bottoms and sombreros.ย That, and the guy above, who decided to take things to the next level
Things are burnin’ off quick and with a shaky forecast things are looking to get a bit worse before they get better.ย However, there is hope for Squaw conditions.ย The extended forecast has whispers of low snow levels and lots of precip for next weekend, so keep those fingers crossed!
Check out Mainline Pocket. It has some nice airs with corn landings.
Funnel was cash money today. How much longer can they stay open in this heat? 2 more weeks?
