“I beat Squaw today. I got to level 14 and it said congratulations, game over.” – Brandon Walsh
“Today was one of the top 5 days of the year.” – Unknown chairlift rider
Today was spectacular at Squaw Valley, USA. Squaw reported 8-14″ of new snow overnight. Weather was a mix of sunny and overcast but visibility was mostly very good.
The only things that didn’t open were The Palisades, Mainline Pocket, and Silverado. Tomorrow will be one helluva show up in The Chimney.
Where it was good today:
- The skiing in the trees off Red Dog was world class today.
- All of KT-22 went off. Granite was deep and huckable and Granite Chief Peak opened (Glory Rock got fully bombed out – just like the old days!).
- Headwall and Light Towers were perfect.
- Broken Arrow was splendiferous in the morning and now one was hiking it.
Where it will be good tomorrow:
- The Palisades
- The Chimney
- Mainline Pocket
- Silverado
Some burly lines were skied at Squaw today including:
- High Line on McConkey’s (Josh A)
- McConkey’s
- Main Air (Fingers)
SQUAW VALLEY, CA =
- 231-452″ snowfall this season
- 68-163″ snowpack

I woke up this morning to see tracks down Tram Chute. Yep. That happened, too.
James Yimm skied McConkey’s someone said
Someone skied high line?! That didn’t seem to have snow on it. Ballsy. Anyone have photos or vids?
Yep, Josh A. I asked him for footage of it and I hope he has some! Saw the tracks. Badass.
Miles you back on the sleds?
I’m back!
