Brought to you by Visit Reno Tahoe

Today was our first day of the season at Squaw Valley, CA.

This place is incredibly filled in for this time of year – especially up high.

The Palisades look like mid-winter.

Granite Chief has a strong snowpack right now and is still very featureful and incredible fun with pillows and dongers and hips everywhere.

We watched kids throwing backflips and 360ºs everywhere…

Every year, I forget how impressive the terrain here is.

Until we come back and see this mountain with our own eyes.

Of all ski resorts we’ve been to, this place has the best freeride terrain.

It challenges you at every turn.

There are options for nearly every type of skiing and riding in plain sight.

The snow was good today.

Most of the powder was skied out, but the snow was still soft, supple, and crazy fun.

KT-22 skied great today with soft snow, some icy spots, and very challenging runs.
