Got to love the trickle-down process now that the holy XX1 Eagle drivetrain has a more affordable younger sibling, the GX Eagle.  The GX boasts the same single-ring system, with the exceptional 500% gear range on a similar 10-50 tooth cassette.  It will cost you $495, without a compatible bottom bracket and XD driver body (add $97 for the driver).

Although, the GX is almost $800 less than the XX1, so it must have its “setbacks,” considerably cheaper materials that are less durable and a bit heftier than the XX1.  But for all of us who aren’t counting every gram, could this be what does finally does the front derailleur in, like, say the 26 wheels we all knew?  Watch the video and  decide if you’re ready for the “Range to Realize”…
