Thursday conditions at Steamboat were cloudy and cold, with an additional accumulation of 2-3 inches.  Conditions were primed for another great day of tree skiing.

Morning runs included a few laps on the Morningside lift to get us warmed up before heading over to the Christmas Tree Bowl. The runs were powdery fun flow rides everywhere we dropped in.

Shadows, Closets, and The Gully were especially noteworthy runs.

After a quick lunch and a necessary warm up, we hit the Sundown Liftline and Morningside Lift. We were caught in a whiteout at the top of the Morningside Lift so navigated down to the Four Points Lodge for another warm-up/defrosting in front of the fireplace.

We wrapped up the day on the Four Points Lift, hitting some of the unnamed glades in the area.

Steamboat is one of the best mountains for powdery fun – flowing glade runs. We were lucky with daily refills of new snow, with an abundance of fresh pow everywhere we ventured.

Après skiing was Sunset  Happy Hour at the top of the gondola. After earlier heavy cloud coverage, the skies opened up affording us spectacular sunset views over Colorado’s Yampa Valley.
