For skiers and snowboarders, tracking performance has become just as much a part of the adventure as chasing powder. Now, Strava, the world’s largest community for athletes with more than 150 million users, has teamed up with Oakley and Meta to bring performance metrics directly into your ride through the new Oakley Meta Vanguard Performance AI glasses.

The integration lets you overlay Strava stats like vertical gain, distance, average pace, and elevation onto videos or photos captured with the goggles’ built-in camera. That means your ski tour up a ridge or a top-to-bottom run at your favorite resort can be turned into a personal highlight reel, complete with the data that shows just how hard you pushed. Sharing those clips with your Strava community is as simple as syncing the goggles through the Meta AI app and authorizing Strava.

For backcountry riders, this could mean documenting big ascents and steep lines with both visual proof and performance metrics. The Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses were designed for high-intensity sports and feature a 12-megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens, video stabilization, slow motion, and hyperlapse capture. They’re water and dust-resistant (IP67), built with Oakley PRIZM lenses to handle glare and snow, and include open-ear speakers that let you hear music or take calls while staying aware of your surroundings in avalanche terrain or crowded lift lines.

The Strava integration is about more than bragging rights. By embedding your stats into your footage, you can analyze performance and progression over time, whether that’s faster transitions on a ski tour, smoother flow through a terrain park, or higher top speeds on the groomers. And since the goggles are designed to work seamlessly with Garmin, Apple Health, and Android Health Connect, you can bring all your training data together in one place.

For skiers and snowboarders, and really anyone tracking their metrics in any activity, the combination of Strava and Oakley Meta Vanguard opens up a new way to document and share achievements. It turns every big day into not just a memory, but a story complete with the stats, scenery, and stoke that define life on the mountain. Whether you’re piecing together your first backcountry tour, chasing vertical on storm days, or finally stomping that trick you’ve been working on, these tools let you capture the effort behind the adventure as well as the payoff.
