Yes, I know people are still skiing and riding at Vail, CO, and Breckenridge, CO, but that doesn’t mean we cannot think ahead and also start dreaming about summer. Vail Mountain will be open for spring turns until this Sunday, April 23, 2023 and Breckenridge will be open as long as possible into May.
Vail Resorts announced their operating plans for the summer for their Colorado resorts. We wanted to share the following information with our readers for those keen to plan for some hiking or mountain biking.
Summer Operating Dates for Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, Beaver Creek and Crested Butte:
Vail Mountain Summer Hours:
Friday, June 16, 2023, through Sunday, October 1, 2023
Helpful Notes:
- Gondola One will run for GoPro Mountain Games June 10 – 11
- After Monday, September 4, 2023, operations will shift to weekends only (Friday-Sunday)
Crested Butte Summer Hours:
Saturday, June 10 through Sunday, September 24, 2023
Helpful Notes:
- After Monday, September 4, 2023, operations will be weekends only
Beaver Creek Summer Hours:
Saturday, June 17 through Sunday, September 24, 2023
Helpful Notes:
- After Monday, September 4, 2023, operations will be weekends only
- Beaver Creek Golf Club planned to open May 12, 2023, for members and guests
- Red Sky Ranch & Golf Club planned to open May 12, 2023, for members and May 17, 2023 for guests
Keystone Resort Summer Hours:
Friday, June 23 through Monday, September 4, 2023
Helpful Notes:
- Mountain operations, including the River Run Gondola and Keystone Bike Park, are planned to operate Thursdays through Mondays
- Keystone Golf planned to open May 12, 2023
- Keystone Adventure Center and Lakeside Village planned to open June 11, 2023
Breckenridge Ski Resort Summer Hours:
Friday, June 30 through Monday, September 4, 2023
Helpful Notes:
- With plans to upgrade 5-Chair on Peak 8 to a new high-speed quad for next winter, Breck’s summer season will start a little later than usual.
Please note that all resort operations are weather and conditions dependent and subject to change.

If you are an Epic Pass holder, summer lift access applies to the summer months prior to the winter season covered by a pass. Your 23/24 Epic pass gives you summer lift access at the same resorts as winter access on your pass. Epic 1-7 Day Passes do not include summer lift access. Bike haul is not included.
If you don’t have your Epic Pass for 23/24 yet, get the best price and most benefits by purchasing early. 23/24 Epic Pass holders can begin redeeming summer benefits April 1, 2023. Summer benefits include:
