Sun Peaks Resort, located 45 minutes north of Kamloops, British Columbia, opens this Saturday, November 18, making it the first B.C. resort to welcome skiers and riders for the 2023/2024 season.
“Opening Day is upon us! The snow has been a little slow to arrive this year, but thatโs not going to stop us from being stoked about first turns, this Saturday (November 18) as scheduled. Terrain will be limited but our operations team has been working tirelessly around the clock to ensure we kick off the 2023-24 season.”

Despite lower-than-average snowfall, Sun Peaksโ operations team has worked tirelessly to ensure that the Sunburst Express and Elevation chairlifts and the Learning Zone Carpet begin operating as scheduled. However, given the limited terrain, with only Cahilty and 5 Mile runs open initially, the resort will offer a 50% discount on lift tickets from November 18 to 24, with a capped number of tickets sold daily to enhance the guest experience. The resortโs Nordic trail network remains closed, awaiting further snow.
Sun Peaks, Canadaโs second-largest ski area, covers 4,270 acres across three peaks, 137 trails, and 17 gladed areas. It is known for its uncrowded slopes and minimal lift lines.
“Due to the limited terrain, Alpine Lift Tickets are 50% off between November 18 to 24, 2023. To help ensure a positive guest experience, the quantity of lift tickets available each day is currently limited.”
