Lake wind advisories always make for a fun time if you’re ready for an adventure. When winter starts to roll in to Tahoe, it brings some significant winds along with it. You can get some decent wave buildup on the leeward sides of the lake on the really heavy wind days.
The local surf crowd takes full advantage of these rare days for the chance to catch some freshwater waves in an epic setting. I started my day by getting in touch with Scott Gaffney, who I know is not one to pass up the opportunity. Sure enough, it was on.
While not a surfer myself (hmm… yet), I knew it would be a great chance to bust out the camera. We headed down to Incline Beach, along with Mike Rogge, Amie Engerbretson, and Rory Bushfield. Fun times ensued.
