As far as we know this hasn’t been done before.  Yeah, guys have towed in to waves on skimboards, but they weren’t waves like this.  A few of the barrels in this video are 10+ feet and that’s enormous.
The balance necessary to pull off a move like this is mind blowing.  With no fins, it’s very tough to hold a rail and get down the line.  On the other hand, having no fins allows a skimboard to have much less drag than a surfboard which translates to more speed.  You can tell in a few of these shots that this kids is maching.
