Copper Mountain, CO Conditions Report: Bluebird to the Future The most recent storm cycle dropped a magnificent 7″ on Copper Mountain. It was hard to find a spot where the skiing wasn’t terrific. Landings were soft, bumps were smoothed out, and everyone on the mountain was sending it. Seen today: random face shots, some hero straightlining Revenge and Endeavor, lots of smiles, and very, very few clouds. Temps were cold but warming through […] Conditions Report Alex Hamilton | March 2, 2017 0 Comments
Copper Mountain, CO Conditions Report: Bluebird Magic After this month’s major storm cycle, we’ve all needed a little vitamin D. Copper Mountain provided yesterday. It was picturesque bluebird, with no wind nor a cloud in the sky. Temps hovered around 30ºF all day. The warm weather hasn’t transformed the snow yet, so it was still soft all over the mountain. Chalky, recycled powder and windbuff covered most of the terrain, […] Conditions Report Alex Hamilton | January 19, 2017 0 Comments
Crystal Mountain, WA Conditions Report: Chalky cold, Storms, Bluebird Crystal Mountain got a little refresh for Christmas followed by some cold, clear temps. Pockets of chalky recirculating powder kept the off piste pretty dang fun, which was a gift in its own right. The previous storm came in windy and kept the frontside refilling to the point I did the same run turn for turn 14 times. It was […] Conditions Report Reid Pitman | December 29, 2016 0 Comments
Alta, UT Conditions Report – Fun Bluebird Day Driving up to Alta on Saturday, I had low expectations. It had gotten warm on Friday so I expected bulletproof in the morning, and some spring slush and corn in the afternoon. Boy was I wrong. Our first few laps on the groomers were amazing. The snow was groomed into perfect corduroy and had the perfect consistency. Alta’s Base Depth: […] Conditions Report Guy LaDouche | April 4, 2016 0 Comments
Bariloche, Argentina Conditions Report: Violently Bluebird Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina experienced an impeccable day today. No wind, warm temps, good snow, great times. Southern aspects are still holding chalky, powdery snow. North faces have fun sun cooked pow. In bounds skied great today in the sun. Nubes was skiing well, Del Bosque even had some huckable cliffs in the soft afternoon snow. Our crew climbed up to the spires in La Laguna and dropped off the back – “Tower Chute” – for a long run into the Van Titter valley. The snow was powdery, chalky, and damn fast. The views from the mountain were […] Conditions Report SnowBrains | August 20, 2015 0 Comments
Alyeska Conditions Report: 20 Days of High Pressure Not much has changed at Alyeska in the last two weeks. A massive high pressure system has taken over Alaska, blocking any major storm headed its way. The temperatures have been in the single digits in the valley floors and the mid twenties above 1,000 feet. Its been nice to escape the cold and take hot laps on the groomers on the upper mountain. These cold temperatures on the valley floor have been wonderful for the snowmakers. They have now filled in most of the lower mountain and are blasting huge mounds of snow on runs that are not open such as Tanaka and water fall. This will be great for the race team to finally […] Conditions Report Scott Rich | February 6, 2015 0 Comments
