NOAA is calling for 6″ of snow for the upper elevations of the Cottonwood Canyons today. The snow started last night and it’s part of the Utah magic: lake effect snow. In Utah, it likes to snow even when there isn’t a storm. Cold wind blows across the warm Great Salt Lake, picks up moisture, then drops it in the form of snow on the Wasatch mountains. Pure magic. 6-12″ of Snow for Utah’s Cottonwood Canyons by Tomorrow

NOAA is forecasting 6-12″ of snow for the Wasatch mountain in Utah by Tuesday afternoon. Utah has been doing pretty well the past couple weeks and this will keep the good times going. Snow totals aren’t anywhere near average with Snowbird at 179″ of snow so far this year and Alta at 203″ of snow this season. Winter Weather Advisory. Valleys: 3-5 inches locally higher on benches.
