Mt. Hood, OR Conditions Report: Summer Skiing on the Palmer Glacier

Timberline lodge where the Palmer Glacier is located is about 60 miles east of Portland, Oregon ( about 1.5 hr drive). There is skiing all year round with the exception of month of September when they close the resort for lift maintenance except for weekends. On the drive up the majestic view of Mt. Man Hit By Chairlift Sues Mount Hood Meadows

James P. Meagher was injured while trying to load onto a chairlift at Mount Hood Meadows on March 27, 2014. The safety bar was down when James went to load the chair, and Meagher was struck and dragged by the chairlift.
