Sad news coming out of Chile, today. Nevados de Chillan ski resort in Chile closed for the season today due to a lack of snow. 20 Ski Resorts CLOSED on the West Coast Due to Lack of Snow

It’s been a brutal year on the West Coast for the little guys. Smaller ski resorts don’t have the funding nor snowmaking capacity to make it through warm, dry winters such as our current winter. **Currently snow water equivalent in the West Coast snowpack is dismal. 9% of average in northern Washington, 16% of average in Tahoe, CA, 10% in much or Oregon… It’s no ones fault, it’s just mother nature. Homewood & Donner = 8th & 9th West Coast Ski Resorts to Close Due to Low Snow

Homewood ski resort in Lake Tahoe, CA announced that it has closed all of it’s chairlifts this week due to a major lack of snow. Homewood is the 8th West Coast ski resort to close already this winter. Homewood will remain closed until more snow falls from the sky.
