Montana Ski Area Under Threat From Wildfire Bear Paw Ski Bowl, a small independent ski hill located in Havre, Montana, is under threat by a major wildfire burning on Mount Baldy. 2014/15 Montana Ski Resort Opening Dates: Montana. I mean, it means ‘mountain’ in Spanish, what more can you want. We have a state in the USA named ‘Mountain’. What’s not to love about that. Clearly, the place must have some gorgeous mountains and some great skiing. It does. Last year, Montana had a record year with Big Sky getting 460″ of snow. Blower snow, that is.
