7 Skiers Die in Large Avalanche in Japan Yesterday A large avalanche claimed 7 skier’s lives on Mt. Masago in Japan on Sunday. The avalanche was 30m (100ft) wide and it ran for 600m (1,968ft) downslope. It appears from this video that the avalanche was very deep.
