Did Park City Execute the Greatest Blunder of All-Time?

A recent court order all but seems to have closed the book on the struggle to control the resort at Park City, Utah. In what apparently was an oversight of the most colossal variety, the former operators of Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) missed the deadline for renewing their lease. Always the opportunist, Vail Resorts swooped in and snatched it from their grasp. A shocking turn of events to say the least. Somewhere, someone at PCMR […]

Dropping Waterfalls on a Paddleboard? | Yep…

It doesn’t really seem like this is a doable activity. We know that you simply cannot land a drop off a waterfall on a stand up paddleboard (SUP). Oh, what’s that? Oh, never mind. You totally can and this video below proves it: That said, there is likely a limit to how big you can go, just with every hucking sport. With such a bad snow year in Tahoe, I figured it would be best to head up as early as possible. After receiving the beta from a friend who had been up a few days earlier (thanks Hazen Woolson!) that many of the chutes do in fact go, and the road was just about clear of snow, it was time for a multi-sport June 1st adventure with my friend Katy Hover-Smoot. […]

Mammoth = Bringing Sexy Back

Today was sexy at Mammoth. There was a strange scent in the air. Something like coco butter sunscreen and the 1970s mixed together. Whatever it was, it was clearly infectious. Girls weren’t wearing pants. Guys weren’t wearing shirts. Loud, raucous hooting was nearly ubiquitous. Everyone was flirting with everyone. 1970s ski formation was frequent. Skiing’s long dormant soul reared it’s heavy head. Chair 23 was the focal point of the renaissance today. Participants were either […]
