Lake Tahoe got hit with late season snowfall last night and it’s still snowing right now.  No ski resorts are open, everyone is over skiing, and the place is plastered in snow.  Accumulations weren’t huge – about 1-5 inches – but snow levels were low and the entire basin got a dousing.

We’re hoping a few of the Tahoe backcountry nuts will be out there skiing this week and will share some fun photos.

In a way, this snowfall is almost a slap in the face.  At this point, people in Tahoe are just looking for summer, mountain biking, and lake time.  It seems like we’re getting more snow in April and May than we did all winter up here…

The forecast is for snow showers through Friday.
