Tahoe Storm = 10 Inches of Snow in 12 Hours Today

Tahoe’s has been under a Winter Weather Advisory since 4am this morning.  That advisory will continue until 4pm today.  Tahoe’s higher elevations are forecasted to received up to 10 inches of snow in this 12 window.

Temperatures are going to be very cold this week with sub-zero temps on Wednesday night.  Highs today at Lake Level are forecasted to reach 29F today and only 22F tomorrow.

Sugar Bowl = 2-4″

Kirkwood = 1″

Squaw = 1″

Mt. Rose = 1” (they’re closed today due to “extremely cold temperatures”)

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM EARLY THIS
MORNING TO 4 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON...

* TIMING: SNOW WILL BEGIN THIS MORNING...INCREASING IN INTENSITY
  BETWEEN 8 AM AND 11 AM.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 4 TO 6 INCHES WITH UP TO 10 INCHES ABOVE
  7000 FEET.

* WINDS: LAKE TAHOE WILL EXPERIENCE SOME LINGERING GUSTS TO 30 MPH
  DECREASING THROUGH THE DAY AS PRECIPITATION MOVES INTO THE BASIN.

* IMPACTS: SNOW WILL CREATE ICY AND HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS
  FOR INTERSTATE 80...AND HIGHWAYS 50...89...88...28...AND 431.
  WINDS ON LAKE TAHOE WILL CREATE UNSAFE BOATING CONDITIONS THIS
  MORNING WITH CHOPPY CONDITIONS THAT COULD CAPSIZE SMALL
  WATERCRAFT.
