Tanner Hall, 34 the freeski legend that shaped slopestyle and halfpipe skiing in the early 2000s, competed as a wildcard entry alongside the planet’s top freeriders on the five-stop international tour in this season’s FWT.

Currently sitting in 7th on the leaderboard, Tanner has pulled out of the tour finale in Verbier this weekend, according to a statement given by his agent to Newschoolers

“He [Tanner] has been back in the US, filming for his upcoming movie project and has made the difficult decision to focus on that for the rest of the season. He had an amazing time on tour this winter and he is looking forward to competing again next winter and hopefully taking home the title!”

As one of the busiest skiers in the business, fitting a full tour into his already crazy schedule was always going to be a challenge. It has been a pleasure watching him on this year’s tour, and hopefully, he’ll be back next year.
