Tesla China yesterday announced the installation of eleven new Supercharger stations along a 1,550-mile route, including one at Mount Everest base camp. The route goes from Chengdu to Tingri.
“We drove over 2500+ kilometers, across 13 sea levels 4000+ miles high, passing 20+ famous landscapes.”
– Tesla China
Tesla China has also installed Supercharger lines along two routes, both around 1,400-miles, of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. The Sichuan-Tibet Highway is the longest high-altitude road in China.
Tesla China has noticeably increased the growth of the Supercharger Network in the last six months. In January, the 700th Supercharger Station was installed at the Badaling Ski Resort in Beijing.
Sales of the electric vehicle in China hit a record high in March 2021. The 34,635 registrations were double the previous month, and triple the same month last year.
“China in the long term will be our biggest market, both where we make the most number of vehicles and where we have the most number of customers.”
– Elon Musk
