RED Mountain Resort, the fiercely independent, highly unique ski resort located in Rossland, British Columbia, is in the early stages of reshaping the entire future of alpine living. Since gaining the industry’s attention at large with their ground-breaking business plan, which turned traditional ski area ownership models on their head, their unwavering commitment to quality has thrust them back into the spotlight. To combat the current conglomerate mentality, RED Mountain Resort not only aspires to be aggressively autonomous but is also working toward a revolution in the future of slope-side lodging.

Nestled within the breathtaking Monashee Mountains, Rossland, British Columbia, is infamously known for being the mecca for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers alike. Home to the oldest ski resort in Western Canada, RED Mountain Resort is a year-round playground offering endless terrain for a truly authentic mountain experience. With over 3,850 acres of terrain, 300 inches of annual snowfall, and five skiable peaks, RED Mountain Resort is a dream come true for snow sport fanatics. Boasting an eclectic mountain culture deep-rooted in history, there is an undeniable draw to the unpretentious, laid-back vibe of Rossland. Dating back to 1896, its legacy and rich history in part can be attributed to hosting Canada’s longest-running Winter Carnival, which created the first opportunity for women to play competitive hockey in front of spectators. This historical event would conceive true hometown legends and pioneers in the sport and alter the role of Canadian women in athletics in the future.

The Rossland Ladies Hockey Team, formally named The Crescents, is a significant part of Rossland history and pays tribute to the proudly independent culture and community of RED Mountain Resort. As an homage to their legacy and contribution, a new real estate venture scheduled to break ground this summer will be named in their honor and will set the tone for the future of alpine living. The Crescent, a 102-unit residential building steps from RED’s Silverlode chair, will be the first of its kind at a Top Ten North American ski resort. Located at the heart of the resort’s base area, these modern alpine flats will elegantly intertwine urban and alpine features to offer unparalleled mountainside living at an extraordinary price point.

  1. I was following along with the breathless promotional prose until I got to “starting under $300K” for a 426-952 square foot space. The Helter Smelter amber ale sprayed out of my nose.

  2. I’ve been to Red Mountain. I like it. I thought the culture was ski bums renting little old houses …Maybe I hang out with the wrong crowd. I celebrate your autonomy.
