The 2025-26 ski season on the East Coast has been Epic with some of the best conditions, weather, and snow the region has seen in years. Spring weather hit fast, with warmer temperatures and rain, forcing some ski resorts to close this weekend. However, some ski resorts will remain open and feature great spring events. From Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire, these are some of the ski resorts to check out now that spring skiing has arrived in the East.

In Vermont, Stowe Resort will host its 70th Annual Sunrise Service on April 5. Guests can celebrate Easter morning with a truly special nondenominational sunrise service on top of Vermont’s highest peak, co-hosted with the Stowe Community Church. This long-standing tradition is open to all.  Stowe’s Spring Bash + Pond Skim will be held on April 11 from 12:00–2:00 p.m., with a free outdoor concert at Midway from 3:00–6:00 p.m.

Okemo Mountain Resort is known for being family-friendly and has three events lined up in the next few weeks, which will be great for the crew. On Saturday, March 14, the Let it Glow Winter Ice Festival features sculptures, LED-lit snow features, an ice bar, and glow tubing that is great for people who want to have fun on the mountain without hitting the slopes. The Snowmelt: Slush Cup & Spring Fling will be held on April 4, and it celebrates the season’s final turns with Okemo’s Slush Cup Pond. The event will have skiers, snowboarders, and guests soaking in the spring vibes with live music and après on the patio. Costumes are highly encouraged for participants in the event, so get dressed up in your favorite mountain outfit, and be prepared to hit the pond. New this season is Okemo’s Parks Halfpipe Jam on April 5. It’s the perfect opportunity for locals of all ages to show off their skills while hitting the halfpipe. The event will feature prizes and music, bringing the park-style energy and vibes to the mountain.

Mount Snow has four events planned for March, starting this weekend. The 17th Annual Carinthia Classic, powered by Rockstar Energy, will be held on Saturday, March 14, and is the must-see freestyle event of the season. This rail jam brings the region’s top freestyle skiers and riders together to battle it out for cash and bragging rights, on the East’s biggest terrain park. The Jack Jump World Championship will be held on Sunday, March 15. This Mount Snow tradition has been happening for nearly half a century. People can watch or compete as racers in dual slalom on Jack Jumpers (a mono-ski attached to a seat) in a thrilling, head-to-head dash for the world championship title. The following weekend, Mount Snow will host its Reggaefest between March 20 and 22. Reggaefest brings live reggae music to the main stage all weekend long, filling the mountain with good vibes, dancing, and island-inspired energy. Mount Snow’s Pond Skim + Duct Tape Derby will be held on March 21-22. These two events are the ones that you can’t miss. Mount Snow tradition delivers big laughs and bold moves. People can watch or participate as costumed skiers skim a 100-foot pond on Saturday, and the next day, watch duct-tape-crafted derby cars race down the tubing hill on Sunday. Expect plenty of creativity, thrills, and unforgettable wipeouts. The mountain’s Winter Block Party will be held on March 28, bringing the energy of Mount Snow’s summer block parties to a one-night winter celebration featuring live music, food trucks, and more.

In New York, Hunter Mountain is hosting the second annual Women’s Weekend on March 14 and 15. This weekend is all about empowering women, embracing the joy of winter sports, and creating a supportive, fun-filled environment where you can challenge yourself and celebrate the mountain lifestyle. It is a nod to the 80s, with jeans in warm spring weather, listening to live DJ sets, high-energy vibes, and a festive crowd atmosphere.

For those looking for a high-level spectator event, the Coop FIS Cross-Country World Cup will be held from March 19 to 22. The event transforms Lake Placid into a multi-day winter sports festival featuring themed race days, live entertainment, film screenings, interactive expo activations, and family-friendly programming. A central focus of the week will be spotlighting women and girls in sport, networking opportunities, and hands-on activities. Fans will also have unique opportunities to connect with athletes through meet-and-greets, alumni celebrations, and special legacy moments—including Sunday’s “Last Lap” ceremony honoring retiring World Cup athletes. Together, these events are designed to foster engagement, connection, and shared celebration across the Lake Placid community and the global ski family.

New Hampshire’s Mount Sunapee will hold its Cardboard Sled Race and Slush Cup 2026 on March 28. The events bring back one of spring’s most anticipated Sunapee traditions. The morning kicks off with teams racing downhill in sleds built entirely from cardboard, duct tape, wax, and paint. In the afternoon, 100 skiers and riders will take on the 90‑foot man‑made pond, attempting to skim across the water in a high‑energy spectacle filled with big splashes and nonstop entertainment. The resort’s Community Rail Jams will be held on March 29 at Mount Sunapee’s community terrain park. The event welcomes skiers and riders of all levels for a laid‑back, creativity‑focused rail jam. A fresh park setup, music, and a supportive community atmosphere set the stage for riders to progress, show off their style, and compete for prizes and bragging rights.

Crotched Mountain’s Cardboard Box Derby is a fan favorite and will be held on March 21. The race sleds can only be built from cardboard, duct tape, zip ties, and paint. Awards are given for Best Slider, Most Creative, Best Kids‑Only Sled, and Judges’ Choice. Crotched’s Pond Skim is on March 22 and will invite 50 participants to test their skills crossing a 100-foot man-made pond.

Attitash Mountain Resort’s 80s Weekend turns back the clock with a full-blown 80s celebration on March 21. Guests can enjoy a performance by the cover band Girls Just Want to Have Fun in Ptarmigan’s Pub from 2:30–5:30 p.m. and compete in a costume contest for exclusive prizes. The mountain goes even more retro the following weekend with its 70s Spring Sendoff with Motor Booty Affair on March 28. It has been a beloved Attitash tradition for more than two decades; the 70s Spring Sendoff invites guests to break out their grooviest retro attire. Motor Booty Affair will perform from 2:00–5:00 p.m. on the outdoor stage (weather permitting). Mount Washington Valley Adaptive Sports will also host its annual Lost and Found Sale in the South Wing beginning at 8:30 a.m., along with a 50/50 raffle.

Wildcat Mountain’s Spring Fling and Pond Skim is one of the most vibrant spring traditions, returning on April 4 with tropical flair. Guests are encouraged to don their brightest beachwear for a chance to win prizes during this high‑spirited celebration. The event will feature live music, awards, and entertainment, keeping the energy high throughout the afternoon.

In Pennsylvania, two resorts are rounding out the season in Western PA this weekend. Hidden Valley’s Kids’ Pond Skim is this Saturday, and Seven Springs Pond Skim will be this Sunday. Roundtop Mountain is located just outside of Harrisburg and will be holding its annual Pond Skim on Saturday, March 14, at 1:00 p.m. The event is open to the first 100 guests, and costumes are required, so bring your best look and get ready to make a splash.

The 2025-26 East’s ski season has delivered an epic ride with deep midwinter dumps, sub-freezing temperatures, and now a sudden spring thaw, but the season isn’t over yet. Warmer days and rain have forced some resorts to close early, yet plenty of resorts are hanging on, turning the final weeks into a celebration of corn snow, costumes, and pure mountain joy.

Whether you’re chasing one last powder stash, testing your skills in a rail jam, or just showing up for the vibes at a pond skim, the events across New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania offer the perfect send-off. These late-season gatherings remind us why we love skiing here: the community, the creativity, the willingness to embrace the slush and make memories anyway. Spring skiing in the East is short, sweet, and unapologetically fun. Get out there, make some turns, soak up the sun, and toast to a season well spent. The mountains may close soon, but the stoke lasts all year.

Throw on your bell-bottoms, platform shoes, and all the groovy gear you’ve got – the 70s Spring Sendoff with Motor Booty Affair is back Saturday, March 28. | Image: Attitash Ski Resort
