This season marks the 60th anniversary of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and they are putting their best foot forward to show what a good time in Jackson really is, both on and off the slopes. The resort is widely known for its steep and technical terrain, but what makes a good ski resort is about more than just skiing.

The music schedule for the rest of the season is PACKED and après is going to be on fire! For the final month of the ski season, Jackson Hole will host 42 live performances across the mountain. The days are getting longer, and there is plenty more time to ski and party this winter at JHMR. The resort is going to be putting on one hell of a show for the rest of this season, fun après, music, and good turns.

This will be the most music-filled spring the resort has ever seen, with an average of more than ten shows per week. Weekends will have the most shows, with Saturdays featuring live sets at four different locations around the resort. Sundays expand to five stages across the mountain, giving skiers and riders plenty of chances to catch music between laps or while settling into a classic spring après scene. There will be a couple of midweek celebrations, with additional performances planned for St. Patrick’s Day March 17, and again on April 1.

Where To Enjoy Après and Music This Spring

The Tram Dock bar, located directly next to the base of the Aerial Tram, has been newly redesigned to embrace Jackson ski culture, both present and past. All winter, they will have DJs or live music every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This is a great place to be when the sun is shining, and you can have a cold beverage in the sun while soaking up the JHMR atmosphere.

At Trapper’s, located at the Sweetwater Gondola Mid-station, live music will be every Saturday. This on-mountain experience offers après every day from 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. This is a great, cozy spot on the mountain, which can be reached by those who don’t ski or snowboard.

Under the Tram Dock

Every weekend in March, JHMR will have free Road to Rendezvous concerts under the Tram. The music will be themed “Time Machine” to celebrate JHMR’s 60th Anniversary, starting with the sounds of the ’60s and ’70s, then moving into the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s. The series of free concerts will finish on March 27 with hip hop legends, Souls of Mischief. These events are going to be JHMR at its best, think big day skiing followed by a fun bop in the sun or snow, après the Jackson Hole way.

There will be additional performances on St. Patrick’s Day and April 1 at the Tram Dock.

Every Saturday and Sunday, Casper Beach and the South Deck of Rendezvous Lodge will both have DJs for the rest of the season. Both of these après scenes are accessible via gondolas and make the perfect mid-mountain events. There will be additional performances on St. Patrick’s Day and April 1 at Casper Beach.

There will also be a DJ at Bear Flats on Sunday, March 15, for the Bear Dog Eating Competition. Located at the base of the Sublette chairlift. There will be prizes and skis on the line for the winners.

Piste Mountain Bistro provides another unique option at JHMR that hosts live music during dinner service on March 15 and April 5. Imagine live music whilst the sun is going down over the mountains, the views, the food, the music, this will be something special.

The Big Spring Event

The Rendezvous Music Festival, on March 28, located at the base of the resort, will be the pinnacle of the spring events. JHMR is bringing out psychedelic rock legends and Grammy-winning artists, The Flaming Lips. They will be supported by the jam-band mastery of Umphrey’s McGee, and the night will be kicked off by DJ Blake Horstmann.

“The Flaming Lips are often described as one of the best acts on the planet,” VICE.

This music festival is an absolute highlight in the JHMR events calendar each year. It is a true celebration of music and mountain culture in an idyllic venue. This year is going to be even more exceptional.

Spring Conditions at JHMR – Like Mid-Winter but better

Spring skiing is often a great time of year to ski, as conditions can be absolutely firing. Snow conditions range from fun corn skiing to deep powder days. At JHMR, the average for fresh snowfall in the last 30 days of the season is 66”. This keeps the snow in winter conditions for much of spring, keeping the skiing great well into April.

Although when conditions aren’t winter-snow conditions, the sun comes out, and the slushy snow begins. JHMR turns into a sunny ski party, with lots of good vibes and wiggles to ski. Wiggles are fun trenches in the snow, through which you can ski and board, like a waterslide, but on skis.

The days are long, the snow base is in, and there’s just something special about après in the afternoon sun. Whether it is sunny or snowing, spring is always a good time to enjoy the mountains.

This spring is shaping up to be a good one. If recent snowfalls are anything to go by, the best days of this season in JHMR are yet to come.

March Radness at JHMR

This year, JHMR wants everyone to have the best spring break ever, so they are running their March Radness campaign. It highlights over 30 spring events on its events calendar. In addition, the resort being in full party mode they are running a promotion called the Golden Ticket, where skiers and snowboarders can save up to 50% on lift tickets.

JHMR also has a daily skier capacity, so this means it is best to book in advance. The bonus is that you will also save more when you purchase in advance, online. This also means that lift lines are shorter with more time on the slopes.

JHMR is due to close on April 12 for the season, so head out to Jackson, get some great turns in, and enjoy the phenomenal après scene.
