Dave “El Presidente” Portnoy is the founder of Barstool Sportsย andย One Bite pizza reviews and is famous for his critiques of pizza shops around the country. Portnoy always says, โ€œOne bite, everyone knows the rules,โ€ and then tastes the pizza and immediately gives his feedback on his thoughts about the pizza slice. He is known for being brutally honest, and millions of people view his reviews. Therefore, he can instantly make or destroy a pizza shop. His reviews are posted every Monday through Friday at 6 p.m. ET on his social media platforms. Portnoy’s reviews are rated with a decimal, and he often debates whether a pizza is worthy of a 6.9 or 8.2, as anything over 8 he considers to be in elite company. He is not known to give high reviews, and if Portnoy does give a high rating, it can launch a pizza shop into the stratosphere. One Biteโ€™s YouTube channel has 2,228 videos, most of which are reviews. The videos are also posted to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Portnoy, One Bite, and Barstool Sports have millions of followers on social media. So, are any pizza shops that Portnoy has rated high on his list located at or near any ski resorts?

The simple answer is ‘yes,’ that is, if you want to make a short to medium road trip for the best pizza, according to Portnoy’s reviews. There are ski resorts that are located within 30 minutes to one and a half hours from several of Portnoy’s highly ranked pizza shops. Portnoy is a huge fan of thin pizza with zero flop and a solid undercarriage. He is from the Northeast, and it shouldn’t be a surprise that all the pizza shops close to ski resorts that made this list are also in the Northeast. The biggest surprise is that these five pizza shops are all ranked in the top 11 of all of the reviews that Portnoy has ever done so far. This means you’ll be getting some really great pizza, and the time it takes to go from the slopes to pizza shops will be well worth the drive.

Most of Portnoy’s highest-ranking pizza shops are located in the vicinity of the Northeast and especially the New York City and Connecticut areas. Therefore, don’t be discouraged if there are ski resorts out West or in the Rockies that didn’t make this list. Plenty of great resorts outside of the I-95 Corridor serve up some good pizza. The list is based on Portnoy’s overall pizza ranking and the distance or time it would take to get to the pizza shop.
