Thredbo, Australia Conditions Report Video | August 5th, 2013 | 50cms Over Weekend

“It really feels like we’re in the middle of a good winter where last Friday it looked like it was on it’s last legs.” – Reggae Elliss

Thredbo ski resort in Australia has come alive after getting 50cms (20 inches) over the weekend.  It sounds like it was pretty dry before the storm but it looks wintery now.

From the video you can clearly tell that the snow has been heavily wind-pressed but it’s fresh.

This video clearly isn’t anything insane, but it’s tough getting reports form Oz, so we’ll take it.  It’s always interesting seeing who’s getting snow where during the summer.  Australia is a legendarily dry place for skiing and riding with some of the largest snow making systems in the world.

Regardless, Aussies love skiing and riding and Oz has some fun ski resorts.  They’ve gotta be pretty stoked down under for this 50cm storm especially if it’s opening up off-piste terrain that was unskiable before the storm.
