Warm temperatures had snow melting at Bogus Basin, Idaho yesterday—and fast. The time-lapse video above shows just how rapidly snow was melting at the Boise ski area. The video was shot over the course of only one day.

Temperatures are expected to steadily rise this week at Bogus Basin, with temperatures forecasted to be 15-20 degrees above normal by Friday, according to the US National Weather Service Boise Idaho. The agency wrote in a social media post yesterday:

“Snow was melting off up at Bogus Basin today! Wait until the real warmth arrives Friday. We are expecting temps 15 to 20 degrees above normal to end the work week.”

Meanwhile, a pattern change and significant drop in temperatures are forecast to impact Idaho and much of the West this weekend and into next week, bringing with it a potential resurgence of winter-like climate.
