Yosemite National Park, CA will open EB/WB SR-120/Tioga Pass without restrictions to the public at 8 am on Monday, July 1.
Until then, the road will be open just 2 hours each day – 10-11 am and 3-4 pm – and motorists are prohibited from stopping on the route or camping overnight.
The road has been closed longer than usual due to logistical problems caused by this winter’s heavy snowfall. A ranger exclusively told SnowBrains:
“We are closed due to having no logistics in the area. The big winter knocked our all our communications: phone, internet, electricity.” – YNP Park Ranger Rueben on June 22nd, 2019
We’ve been skiing off Tioga Pass for the last few weeks, and conditions have been amazing. In fact, we’re heading back up there today! Maybe see you out there…
