The East Coast has the deepest snowpack in the USA right now?

YES.

The East Coast is on fire right now and doesn’t look like it’ll stop anytime soon.

It’s been a bizarre year, there’s no doubt about it.  The Pacific Northwest usually dominates this list but right now there’s only one PNW ski resort on this list right now, Mt. Bachelor in Oregon.

The Wyoming also makes a strong showing taking 2 of the top 3 spots.

Lets hope things stay snowy in the Rockies and East while the snow machine finally turns on out West.

The snow depths below we’re gathered from the ski resorts’ websites showing snow depths on their upper mountains as of 11:59pm on February 22nd, 2015.

  1. I’m not sure about the 72″ at Toggenburg but last weekend I had to get some equipment from between the B-Net and woods. I take my skis off and climb under the net, then whhhhhoooopp up to my arm pits in snow. That is not normal here in Central New York.

  2. i see all the comments about Kelly Canyons ridiculous claims last time kept it from consideration this time. Despite their 100+” claims.

  3. Whitefish MT has an actual snow weather station up top that reads 75” base, no lying in that data (cough) Hunter (cough)….

  4. I am so glad that a great no name moutian(except to people who live in this area} finally got the recinition that they deserive. There has been many changes threw out the yrs. Any body asks where do you ski{I like the tags hanging down} Oak Mountain/Spectulator N.Y. I taught my husband, children an nephew to ski there. It makes me soo happy to see this. Support this beautiful moutain.

  5. I along with many others just have to laugh at the top spot.

Just a FYI the Teton freeze elevation has been at around 8000′ for several of the recent storms and this is why Grand Targhee has been lucky enough to get snow rather than rain.

I am not sure if you know where Kelly Canyon is but they were well below the freezing altitude for many of our last big storms which calls into question where the info is coming from for your top 10 list.

  6. Hunter 108″ of snow? where do you hide it you bastards? why don’t you let us ride those awesome conditions?

Got an opinion? Let us know...
